The story behind it

This did not come from a tech background. It came from the dirt.

The career started in mining and construction senior management. Running environmental programs on sites where the stakes were real and the admin never stopped.

Before that, a mortgage business. Sole operator. Very successful. Good money. And completely unsustainable. Working till 10pm every night. Taking the laptop on every holiday. Seven days a week because there was no reliable admin help. The kind of burnout that takes a while to admit to, because from the outside the business looked like it was going well.

That experience is the reason the problem is so well understood. Not from reading about it. From living it.

The understanding of trades comes from a different place. Ben, the husband, is a diesel fitter. That is a household that knows what a tradesperson's working life looks like from the inside. The hours, the physicality, the fact that you cannot answer a phone from under a machine any more than you can answer it from under a house.
